Terms and conditions

MEMBERS OF THE ORGANIZATION

 

Classification of the Members of the Organization: All members of the PANAMANIAN SOCIETY FOR EPIDEMIOLOGY AND MATHEMATICAL MODELING shall be of equal hierarchy and there shall be no classification or category among them. 

 

 Modality of Affiliation of Members of the Organization: Any natural person, professional in the field of epidemiology or mathematical modeling who voluntarily wishes to be a member of the PANAMANIAN SOCIETY FOR EPIDEMIOLOGY AND MATHEMATICAL MODELING and so informs the organization by completing the membership form, either physically or digitized, may be a member of the SOCIETY. This form will be validated by the Board of Directors and once approved, the membership will be activated upon payment of the annual fee.

 

 Any change in the mode of affiliation shall be approved by the General Assembly of Members.

Modality of Disaffiliation of Members of the Organization: The disaffiliation of members of the PANAMANIAN SOCIETY FOR EPIDEMIOLOGY AND MATHEMATICAL MODELING shall be given in the event that the member communicates to the Board of Directors of the organization the decision to no longer belong to it, notifying in writing at least fifteen (15) calendar days in advance, establishing as the only requirement for disaffiliation, not having outstanding balances with the organization.

 

Loss of Membership: The membership of the organization shall be lost with the non-payment of one (1) annuity, for failure to comply with the Code of Ethics of the profession, by death, resignation, expulsion or being found guilty of any guilty or fraudulent offense in the Republic of Panama.

 

 The General Assembly of Members shall decide on the loss of membership or disaffiliation.

 

 DUTIES AND RIGHTS OF THE MEMBERS 

 

 Duties of the Members of the Organization: The duties of the members of the PANAMANIAN SOCIETY FOR EPIDEMIOLOGY AND MATHEMATICAL MODELING shall be the following:

 a) To attend punctually to all General Assemblies held by the organization.

 b) To comply with all the stipulations contracted in the present statute, as well as in the Internal Regulations of the organization.

 c) Contribute with all the means at their disposal to the moral, scientific and ethical development of the organization.

 d) Pay the organization's annual dues on time.

 e) To comply with the activities programmed by the Board of Directors.

 f) Others that are established in these bylaws or in the Internal Regulations of the organization.

 

 Rights of the Members of the Organization: Members shall have the following rights:

 (a) To elect and be elected to the positions of executive members.

 b) To participate in all the General Assemblies held, in which they shall have the right to speak and vote.

 c) To legally challenge any decision of the Board of Directors, or of the General Assembly of Members, that violates the bylaws or Panamanian laws.

 

 Violations: The infraction of any of the prohibitions contained in these bylaws or its amendments, may be denounced to the Board of Directors by any member. In case the infraction is proven, the cessation of the acts shall be ordered and a warning may be given and sanctions may be imposed according to the Internal Regulations of the organization.
